Wild Sky Wilderness, established to preserve the natural environment of the western slopes of the Cascade Range, covers over 106,577 acres within Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. This area is renowned for its diverse ecosystems ranging from dense lowland forests to rugged mountain peaks. Wild Sky supports a vast array of plants and wildlife, including old-growth stands that are crucial habitats for species such as the northern spotted owl.
